The Petzl Foundation is pleased to be a founding sponsor of the International Technical Rescue Association.

The Petzl Foundation was established in 2005 with the primary goal of giving back to the communities that have allowed our company to grow and prosper.  We support non-profit organizations through financial and equipment grants, as well as consultation and training.  We focus on three primary mission categories and support projects which:

  • promote education in risk management techniques designed to prevent accidents
  • assist with conservation of ecosystems with difficult or vertical access
  • contribute to best practices in the vertical world by gaining new knowledge

ITRA’s mission to promote international best practices and standards for a broad spectrum of technical rescue applications, backed up by a rigorous assessment and re-certification process falls into perfect alignment with the goals of the Petzl Foundation.  We recognize the importance of international collaboration from the various groups that are involved in modern technical rescue.  Support from equipment manufacturers, training organizations, independent instructors and first responders is critical  to improving the safety and effectiveness of rescue operations in today’s mobile and connected world.  Please join us in supporting the important work being done by ITRA.
