ITRA has released version 4 of it’s qualification syllabus, which now includes qualifications in urban search and rescue (USAR) [structural collapse]. It provides for the first time, a global curriculum for USAR practitioners that is aligned to the International Search & Rescue Advisory Group (INSARAG) methodology providing individual competency qualifications for those operating at the light, medium and heavy level, and includes an attendance based programme certificate for those completing the First Responder programme. ITRA is also now seeking applications from experienced and credentialed USAR instructors.
